THE Brief

Microsoft wanted a creative solution to promote Windows Live as a social tool and to drive more fans to their Windows Live Facebook page. Recognising our extensive knowledge and insights of social media workings, they turned to us for an advantage.

The Strategy

Our idea was to create a strong relation between Windows Live and social popularity. So we created a unique tool that allowed users to check their digital status and rank their popularity. The Microsoft Connect-O-Meter application analysed each user’s activity on social media platforms to provide a popularity rank. To activate the app, users had to visit and like the Windows Live page. Users could also post their social status on their Facebook wall and compare their status with friends. Thus, we were able to successfully promote Windows Live as a social outlet.
